Santana Aguirre is a writer, director, & instant photographer based in los angeles.
She is drawn to themes of grief, addiction, sexuality, and loneliness, with a particular interest in ghosts, creatures, and worlds that blur genre lines. She believes the horror genre extends an opportunity for underrepresented identities to tell their own stories in a raw, unique manner.
She began exploring instant photography at the age of fourteen, and has since evolved to using Polaroid photos, thermal prints, and emulsion lifts as visual supplementation to her written work.
Santana received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Film, Television, and Digital Media with a primary concentration in Narrative Directing and a secondary concentration in Digital Media.
